Amtani PragnyaANTANI, Pragnya Gajendra - It is with deep and heartfelt sorrow that we note the loss of Pragnya on Wednesday, January 22, 2020.

For close family members she has always been our “Didi” and as the matriarch of the Antani family, she was our respected mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and most recently, the great-grandmother.

In her many roles, she had a towering influence on all of us in the immediate and extended family through her interactions; her hearty singing; her fondness for music; her reading; her ability to converse on a myriad of topics; and her sheer presence at the family gatherings.

n her chosen vocation of a teacher, she played a prominent role in the development of hundreds of her students and as a testament, on her last travel through India, she was warmly felicitated by her student community who reminisced fondly of Didi’s impact all through the younger phase of their lives.

In the later years of her life, she was stricken with a debilitating ailment that severely immobilized her but true to her inherently strong will and character, Didi displayed her resilience and a zest for life through these years.

We look back at Didi’s life with respect, affection, care and regard. In her passing, we have lost a strong voice and her prominent stature in Antani family. We will feel the void for the years ahead.

The service will be held at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, Markham on Friday, January 24th, 2020 11:30am
