MACY, Murray - With heavy hearts, the family of Murray Macy announces his peaceful passing on Monday, February 24, 2020 in Florida. Age 90.

Eldest child to the late Freda Kishinovsky and Samuel G. Macy.

Beloved husband and best friend to Mary (nee Kryger). Loved by all his children Mark, Douglas (Shayna), Jodi (Neil), Bill and Mary’s children Franceen (David), Barry (Shameen), Steven (Swen) and all his grandchildren Richard, Aaron, Adam, Harrison, Sam, Brodie, Sierra, David, Alex, James, AJ and Quinn.

Murray is fondly remembered by his first wife Myrna. Brother of Ruth Viner and brother in law of the late Joe Viner, the late Sandra Levinson and the brother in law of the late Jacie Levinson, Shirley and brother in law Mike Molot.

Lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.

In addition to his family, Murray’s passion was his restaurant business in Ottawa. He was a proven innovator and skilled risk taker which drove his success over the past 70 years in the industry.

He always loved automobiles as a hobby and never really retired from the restaurant. In later years he did spend relaxing winters in Florida with Mary and their pet Charlie.

We will miss his big smile and warm hugs. Too dearly loved to ever be forgotten.

Funeral service Sunday March 1st at 1pm at Ottawa Chevra Kadisha funeral home, 1771 Cuba Ave, Ottawa. Burial following service at Jewish Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 2692 Bank Street, Ottawa.

Shiva: 1939 Camborne Cres, Ottawa Sunday 7-9 pm, Monday 2-4 pm, 7-9 pm. Shiva continued 22 White Lodge Cres, Richmond Hill, Ont Tuesday 7-9, Wed/Thurs 2-4 pm, 7-9 pm
