Calas DaisyCALAS, Daisy Barbara Calas  - passed away April 24, after a courageous cancer battle with her daughter by her side.

Born at home to her parents, George and Daisy, Barbara lived her life in the Riverdale area of Toronto, Goodwood and Markham.

She wore many hats in her lifetime: telephone operator, a nurse’s assistant during the war, an advertising associate, part-time farmer, sales associate and volunteer.

The role she loved most was mother.

She relished in her children’s activities and babysat her nephew, nieces, grandsons and friends’ children playing integral roles in their lives throughout their lives.

Barbara leaves behind her daughter, Elizabeth, daughter-in-law Heather, and her grandsons Matthew and Darren.

She was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey and brother, Edward.  She will be greatly missed by her nephew Michael (DJ), nieces Kelly (Steve) and Leigh (Ray), her sister-in-law Claire and her many friends.

Somewhere, a slot machine is paying off big-time for Barbara.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later date.

Donations to foodbankscanada.ca would be appreciated, especially at this fragile time, as Mom volunteered at the Markham food bank for years.
