Rosen HelenROSEN, Helen (Goldberg) -1929-2020 - Passed away peacefully at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, CA on May 16, 2020, with her daughters at her side, after living a full and extraordinary life.

Helen now joins Martin, her adored husband of 59 years, on the first tee.

Loving mother of Denise (Terry), Arthur (Irene), Charles, Michael (Eva), Mark (Joanne) and Paula, devoted Bubbie to eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Helen was a "doer" in life and lived with joy and adventure, often with her six kids trailing in tow. She was kind and generous and ran a household with an open-door policy, always offering a meal or a bed to family or friends who landed on her doorstep, day or night.

Helen was well read, curious, articulate and a lifelong learner. She championed family dinners, combining amazing meals with dialogue and discussion on a broad and ever-changing array of topics.

Helen was a woman well ahead of her time. She taught school while Martin finished his medical residency. She scuba-dived in the `50s, spread her wings and earned her private pilot's license in the `60s, returned to school in the `70s, left Toronto for Texas in the `80s and then moved on to Palm Desert, CA in the `90s where she and Martin enjoyed a busy and active retirement.

Helen will be sadly missed by all of us but the legacy she leaves behind is rich and bountiful.

Private family service.

Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Magen David Adom for Israel.
