BARK, Jocelyn 'Lyn' Victoria - 95, passed away peacefully on Canada Day July 1, 2020 with beloved husband of 73 years and best friend, Chad, and her children by her side.

Lyn’s family: husband, Chad Bark, oldest daughter, Sue Waterman (Chuck) grandchildren Jennifer (Dave Holmes), Alison, Chad and great grandchildren Ben and Maryn; son Don (Ruth ) grandchildren Laura (Dennis Logronio) Mary and great grandchild Faith; daughter Barb MacIver (Grant), grandchildren Trisha (Peter Fahrni), Sarah (Graeme Adair) and great granddaughters Ainsley and Karlie; pre-deceased youngest son, John, grandson Jason (Stephanie) and great granddaughter Eva… will miss her so!

Lyn and Chad met 75 years ago just months before Chad went overseas during WW2. Through letters, their love grew and they married shortly after Chad returned to Toronto, their hometown.

Throughout their 73 years of marriage, they have remained girlfriend & boyfriend bound by love, laughter, loyalty, neighbourly ways, shared community interests, volunteering, Glenview Presbyterian Church, friendships, travel, being snowbirds in beloved Destin, and special VIPSs at all family and milestone celebrations.

Lyn also volunteered at the Princess Margaret Hospital, home and school and the Creche. She loved working at Birks part time – spent more than she made – owning and breeding golden retrievers, gardening, knitting, and playing bridge. Her hands were never still.

Lyn was an exceptional hostess and entertainer, always on the go, curious, independent and always conversing – so much to say!

Lyn and Chad have spent the last four years at Kingsmere Retirement Residence in Alliston near daughter Sue.

Michelle, Jennifer, Kingsmere staff and residents – words of gratitude don’t begin to express how grateful we are to all of you – Mom and Dad’s Kingsmere family! Your love and compassion, family support and welcoming ways – always going above and beyond to keep Lyn and Chad together with their family during these difficult times – comforting and ‘loving’ them as your own parents. – thank you!

Dr. Jansen, you have been there for Mom and Dad even on your rare days off. Your outstanding medical care enhanced Mom’s quality of life over the last four years – thank you!

Crystal, you are such a loving, compassionate ‘daughter’ and trusted friend to Mom and Dad and we so appreciate the warmth and support you have given to us kids too– thank you!

Due to the virus, a small family graveside service was held for Lyn on Tuesday, July 7th. We plan to have an extra – special celebration of life for Lyn at Glenview Presbyterian Church once it is safe for all to attend.

Memorial contributions to The Princess Margaret Hospital or Glenview Presbyterian Church may be made in Lyn’s honour.
