LYGDAS, Basile Thomas - Born in Mouzaki, Thessalia, Greece, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at the age of 90.
He will be one again with his beloved wife Athanasia (pre-deceased December 31, 2018) sharing in God’s gift of eternal life.
He will be forever cherished by his daughter Effi and son-in-law Stan, and by his son Thomas and daughter-in-law Patrizia.
He will always be the loving and doting “pappou” to his grandchildren Stephen, Bill, and Sophia.
He is predeceased by his siblings, Litsa, Kosta, Patra and Christo.
Our father and grandfather Basile derived great inner strength from Christ’s teachings and was always willing to pass on to us these teachings, so that we too, could derive inner strength. We will always remember him and miss him deeply, as will his extended family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 from 3 to 8pm at Heritage Funeral Centre, Toronto. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Heritage Funeral Centre will permit a maximum of 30 attendees at one time for a visitation. All attendees MUST wear a facial mask. Funeral home will be able to provide a mask for those that require one. On Friday, July 10, the family will hold a private funeral service and interment at Thornhill.
