PORTOLESE, Maria Nunziata Mercuri 'Tina' - (August 11, 1926 - July 8, 2020) -
Maria Nunziata, affectionately known as Tina, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2020, just one month short of her 94th birthday. Our hearts are broken.
She lived each day with love and faith; she was a true example for all of us. She devoted herself to her family with all her love, strength, and generosity.
Tina loved sharing stories of her youth in Mammola - running through the family fields, picking fruit from their trees, and singing with her sisters, never complaining about the many essential chores that needed attention.
These memories will stay alive with all of us and her joyful spirit will continue to guide and comfort us.
Tina was predeceased by her beloved husband Giuseppe and her sisters Rosa and Angela. She will be greatly missed by her son Roberto (Anna), granddaughter Alisha (Tony) and great-granddaughter Charlotte. She will also be greatly missed by her sister Immacolata, her nephews and nieces, and their children and grandchildren whose company she always cherished. She will always be in our hearts.
We would like to thank all the staff, nurse managers, nurses, personal support workers and residents at Hawthorn Woods Care Community in Brampton for all their support, loving care and friendship.
We are grateful for all the support and compassion expressed by our family and friends.
Visitation and Funeral arrangements with Ward funeral home, Weston Chapel, Toronto (*With Restrictions due to Covid 19 challeges). Please know that a Celebration of Life will be organized at a later date.
