Alaimo GiuseppeALAIMO, Giuseppe - Giuseppe Alaimo, 89, born in Camastra, (Agrigento) Sicily, Italy on October 18, 1930 passed away on July 24, 2020 after battling a respiratory illness.

Immigrated to Canada in 1959.

Cherished husband of Placida (predeceased) and older brother to Calogero Alaimo (predeceased by his siblings, Giovanni Alaimo, Ignazia LoVetro, Giorlanto Alaimo).

Loving father to Giuseppina (Giuseppe), Pietro (Cathy), Maria and Ignazia (Terence).

Devoted nonno to Giacomo (Brennan), Giuseppe, Giovanni (Jaclyn), Adam etc. Adam, Julianna (Yanick), Joseph, Andrea (James), Tristan (Tineke), Leah, Nika, Vince, Anna (James), John-Paul, Joseph, and Peter. Great grandfather to Chiara, Rafaƫl , Isabella and Juliette. Wonderful uncle to countless nieces and nephews.

Giuseppe was well known for his daily scooter rides around the neighbourhood. His passion was his vegetable garden.

He was instrumental in the construction of the Bloor-Danforth subway line, Ontario Place, and the P.A.T.H. underground shopping mall in Toronto.

Visitation is at the Ward Funeral Home 'Weston Chapel' by appointment only on Wednesday, July 29th (5:00-8:00 pm). Funeral services to take place at the Immaculate Conception Church on Thursday, July 30th at 9:30 am. Limited space is available due to covid social distancing rules. Both viewing and funeral will be streamed live on the funeral home's website. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association and/or Humber River Hospital.
