SCALISI, Antonino Salvatore - (1953 - 2020) - Antonino passed away peacefully on July 28th, 2020. In his final moments he was surrounded by love.

Antonino lived 1000 years in the 66 calendar years of his life. He died just like how he lived: he wrote his own rules, challenged authority and walked the path less travelled.

He was the king of one-liners, famous for his quick wit and sense of humour. He was a hard worker, a great entertainer, was respectful and extremely generous. He will be remembered for his bravery, extraordinary strength and courage, but mostly, he will be remembered for being the best grandfather.

He will be sorely missed by all who cared for him.

Antonino was born in Vita, Trapani, Sicilia, Italy on October 10, 1953 to Bernardo and Angela Scalisi (Crimi). The family emigrated to Canada in 1954. Antonino maintained a lifelong affection for his Sicilian roots.

Antonino is survived by his father Bernardo Scalisi, sister Vita (Anna) and his three children Angela (Chris), Marisa (Bruno), Bernardo (Yendi). He will be sorely missed by his 3 adoring grandsons, Mattheos, Luca and Alexandros.

Predeceased by his mother Angela (Crimi), his family is deeply comforted by the knowledge that their father has reunited with his beautiful mother.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Antonino’s team of doctors and nurses at Princess Margaret Hospital. Thanks to their exceptional care and remarkable decision making, Antonino was given four extra years to spend time with the ones he loved.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked to consider donating blood which is in very low supply.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only 50 guests are permitted and have been privately invited to the funeral. Arrangements with Vescio funeral homes.
