Krishnapillai ManonmaniKRISHNAPILLAI, Manonmani - After a brave fight against cancer, Manonmani passed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at her home in Markham, Ontario.

She was surrounded by her loving husband of 63 years and her four children. She was 83 years old.

Manonmani was born on August 27, 1936, in Analaitivu, in Sri Lanka. She was the youngest of four children.

She married her husband Narayanar Krishnapillai in 1957 and raised four children: Pirabalini (Bama), Mohan, Kuhan and Jeyabalini (Jeya).

She lived in Sri Lanka as a homemaker with her family before immigrating to Canada in the early 90s.

Regardless of what life threw at her, her spirit did not waver. She dealt with challenges, including her recent cancer diagnosis, with a warm smile and by reminding her children of all the incredible blessings she had in her life. Manonmani’s selflessness and empathy were evident in every aspect of her life. A language barrier never stopped her from finding ways to convey her utmost gratitude, compassion and appreciation to anyone she came across in Canada. She was the most gracious of hosts, always ensuring that the guests in her home were welcomed warmly, fed fully, and treated kindly. She was very intuitive, understanding so much more than what was being said. She found ways to make her loved ones feel seen, loved and cared for, even when it was her they were caring for.

Along with her loving husband, 4 children and 8 grandchildren, Manonmani is survived by her four children-in-law: Ketha, Rathi, Yalini and Seyon; her grandson-in-law, Scott and her first great-grandson, Kathir.

To her family, she was and will remain a pillar of strength, love and resilience.

In addition, we will remember her for her infectious laugh, her artistic nature, her compassionate spirit and her unwavering love.

Mano, Amma, Mami, Ammama, Appama, Pooti: we love you, we will remember you every day and carry you with us always. We are so proud to be your legacy. Rest in Peace, our angel.
