Levene KathrynLEVENE, Kathryn Sara - Beloved daughter of Henry and Clarice Michel (nee Meltzer), Kathryn Sara Michel Levene (born November 14, 1943) passed away the morning of Sunday, October 18, 2020, in Toronto, Ontario.

Kathy grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, before moving to attend the University of Toronto in pursuit of her Master's of Social Work degree.

She was Clinical Director of the Child Development Institute (formerly Earlscourt Child and Family Centre) for many decades, where she led innovative girls mental health research, earning her a YMCA Women of Distinction award in 2014.

In life she was cherished by many who will miss her dearly: her sister, Isabel Malkin (nee Michel) and her husband, Mendl Malkin; daughters Marissa and Gillian Levene; sons- in-law Christopher Willerton and Mark Turner; grandchildren Sydney Cate Sloane Willerton, Henry William and Theodore Sullivan Levene- Turner; husband Mark Levene; nephews Michael, Daniel and Kyle Waldman, and their spouses Rose, Christine and Nancy; great nephews and nieces Patrick, Elliot, Matthew, Gabriel, Kiori and Kian; as well as close friends and colleagues, of which there are so many.

Our hearts are broken but we know she is at peace. We love you Mama, Baba, Ketzella and Auntie K.

In lieu of flowers, she would welcome a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society 1-888- 939-3333.

A Family graveside service will be held on Monday, October 19, 2020. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
