Capobianco AmaliaCAPOBIANCO, Amalia - "Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories...."

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we say goodbye to our beautiful mother Amalia. She passed away peacefully on October 16, 2020 at the age of 90.

She was predeceased by her husband Angelo Capobianco. A wonderful mother to Antonio (Patrizia) and Giovanna (Salvatore). Best Nonna ever to Angelo (Lillia), Nicholas (Reggie), Michael, Joshua and Carmelina (Mike) and Bis-Nonna to Valentina and Sarina.

She will be greatly missed by her sisters, Maria (Argentina), Claudia (Italy) and predeceased by her brother Giuseppe Lucarelli.

Our mother had the most beautiful smile and eyes that would light up the room. She was charming, witty with a keen sense of humour. For those of you who knew her, she loved her family more than life herself and would do anything for them.

She was born on March 24th, 1930 in Bovino, Foggia, Italy. She immigrated to Canada in 1957 and married her sweetheart Angelo, settling in Toronto, Ontario. She loved her new life in Canada. She even took English language courses so she could learn to speak the language.

She was honest, compassionate and very hard-working and instilled these values in her children. She was a very talented seamstress and took great pride in producing her bespoke originals. She began working in the garment industry on King Street much to the delight of her employer. He would use her work as an example to others to show what excellence was.

She later began her employment at Toronto East General Hospital working there for 24 years and 4 months. Our mom was very proud of that and would tell everyone she would often use her lunch hour feeding patients who needed assistance, translating for those who couldn't speak English and would often cheer them up with words of encouragement. She was very proud of her Italian Heritage often telling us many stories about her life in Italy.

Our mom was a very bright student but unfortunately due to the circumstances of war in Italy she could not further her education. She loved making her famous tomato sauce (SALSA), foccacia pizzas, sausages, proscuitto and homemade pasta.

Mamma loved her family and cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a heart of gold and was very generous to everyone.

We would like to thank and acknowledge the staff at Brampton Civic Hospital ACE Unit, Pallative Unit and Tullamore Nursing Home especially Remi. Everyone referred to her as Mamma.

Arrangements with Trull funeral home. Funeral service will be held on Thursday October 22nd at St. Brigid's Church (300 Wolverleigh Blvd., Toronto) at 10 am. with Entombment to follow at Highland Memory Gardens (33 Memory Gardens).
