Adams AlfredADAMS, Alfred Maurice - August 23, 1917 to October 20, 2020

Resident of Markham, Ontario. Maurice passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ at Bethany Lodge in Unionville.

Maurice was born and grew up in Toronto, He met Audrey Porter, at a young peoples corn roast, and became engaged before he went to serve in the Air Force in the Second World War.

He was overseas for 4 years, one year in Ireland and 3 in India / Burma.

He has a Burma Star.

They married immediately upon his return from the war in 1945 and lived in Scarborough and then Don Mills. There they raised their family while Maurice practiced dentistry and Audrey later continued to teach part time.

Maurice was a private pilot continuing to fly into his 80’s. He also enjoyed woodworking, becoming quite skilled turning wooden bowls on his lathe.

Maurice was one of two children born to Alec and Doris Adams. He was predeceased by his sister Louise of Brazil.

He was also predeceased by the love of his life Audrey with whom he shared 71 years of marriage. Together they had three children, 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren (and counting).

He will be lovingly remembered by his children Ron Adams (Cathryn), Sharon Garvin (Jim) and Janice Brodie (Gary) and grandchildren Kyla Adams, Kari Adams Badley, Brett, Christy and Bryce Adams, Julie Garvin Huizenga, James, Kevin, Keith and Jeffery Garvin, and Jennifer, Michael, Kristen and Stephen Brodie, and their spouses and children.

Friends and family are invited to attend the funeral service Monday October 26th, 2020 at 10:30 am at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, Markham. There will be visitation at the funeral home immediately before the funeral service on Monday October 26th from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Interment will follow the funeral.

The family requests that any donations in Maurice’s memory be made to Bethany Lodge where Maurice and Audrey spent the last years of their lives and with which the family has had a long relationship. Donations may be sent to Bethany Lodge, 23 Second Street, Markham Ontario L3R 2C2.
