Omori TanakaOMORI, Tomoko - Aged 54, passed away peacefully at home on October 25, 2020 after a 3-year battle with cancer.

She fought the disease valiantly with support, compassion, love and respect from her husband Robert Kosoy and their children Hana and Jona.

Tomoko was born September 17, 1966 in Tokyo, Japan and grew up in the central Japanese city of Nagoya.

She was working as the head of the international exchange division in a municipal office near the City of Nagoya when she met Robert who was working for the Port Authority of Nagoya.

They moved back to Toronto, where Tomoko immersed herself in a new language and country, while cherishing and maintaining strong ties to her Japanese culture and heritage.

Tomoko and her family were also tightly connected to the Jewish community of Toronto, and the Japanese Canadian community of Toronto, both of whom will miss her greatly.

Tomoko is survived by her husband Robert Kosoy, her children Hana and Jona Kosoy; her sister Fumiko Omori and her mother Teiko Omori in Nagoya.

She was dearly loved by her father Kojiro Omori who passed in 2018.

Also mourning are Dr. Martin and Estelle Kosoy, Daniel Kosoy, Michelle Kosoy and Andrew Burnstein, Laurence and Cherise Kosoy, and many nephews and nieces who Tomoko loved and cherished.

A private service will be held on Tuesday October 27th, 2020 at 3:00 p.m.
