SLOAN, Robert Warren - (1928 - 2020) - Passed away peacefully at his home in Weston on November 30, 2020.

Warren was born on June 24, 1928 in Toronto and raised his family in the Toronto suburb of Weston. Warren lived in his home for 65 years. He worked for Northern Telecom (Nortel) for over 40 years.

Warren was the devoted husband to Barbara Rebecca (nee McIntyre) for 42 years. Survived by loving sons Allan, Robert & James, and daughter Cathy (Burns). He was predeceased by his daughter Donna Lynn Tucker, who passed away last year.

Proud grandfather to Tori and Michael, Brandon and Jeffrey, William & Kim. Cherished great-grandfather to 8, and great-great grandfather to 9.

Warren (Slim) Sloan loved to travel with his wife Barbara. Longtime member and Elder of the Weston Presbyterian Church. He used to spend a good deal of his weekends tinkering and building at his cottage in the Parry Sound area.

In his retirement, Warren volunteered at the Humber River Hospital where he became a familiar face manning the register in the hospital gift shop. In his later years, he also joined and became a member of The Fabulous Invictones, a men’s choir that performed at local retirement homes and long term care facilities. He was a member of the York-West Active Senior Centre which he frequently attended until his health deteriorated.

Arrangements entrusted to the Ward Funeral Home "Weston Chapel."
