MISRA, Amar Suresh (Sinha) - 90, passed away peacefully at her home in Pickering, Ontario amidst her children and grandchildren on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.
She was born in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India on September 7, 1930. She was the beloved daughter of the Late Chandravati and Late Balbir Prasad Sinha.
She was educated at Mahadevi Kanya Pathshala College, Dehradun. One of her cherished memories of her schooldays was of being captain of the basketball team. She later worked as a school teacher and principal for many years.
She married Suresh Misra in 1955 and moved to Bombay in 1960, and later emigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1979. In Canada, she was very involved and contributed extensively in Indian senior citizen community and was respected and well-loved by her peers.
She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband in 2003. She is survived by one brother, three sons and three daughters-in-law, one daughter and son-in-law, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020. Due to COVID restrictions, the service will be limited to immediate family.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Laxmi Narayan Mandir in Memory of Amar Misra.
