SCHWARTZMANN-BRUKSON, Marisa - (July 19, 1951 – January 8, 2021) - Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and cousin who will be missed by everyone she knew.

Marisa was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil and spent her formative years in the nearby city of Campinas. After becoming a lawyer, she continued her studies in law in Israel where she met her Husband Eli. Marisa and Eli started their own family when back in Brazil and eventually moved to Canada for opportunity.

Marisa did not have an easy life, being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at age 19, and breast cancer at 68, she was constantly challenged. Despite this difficulty, Marisa was often smiling, as she always made the best of whatever situation she faced.

She was a mentor to her daughter, Carolina who followed in her footsteps to become a lawyer, and always a positive force in her household.

Marisa’s infectious optimism will always be missed and forever remembered. The absence of her laughter and her resilience will be noticed. Whenever we face challenging times in our lives we can think of Marisa and how she would have carried herself. We are all better off having known her.

Arrangements entrusted with Steeles Memorial Chapel, Thornhill. Private Family Funeral service will be livestreamed. Please go to http://smclive.ca on Sunday, January 10th at 2:00 p.m.
