Baril GusBARIL, Gus   - 1954 - 2021  On January 8, 2021, we lost one of the good guys.

Defying medical reality for nearly thirteen years, Gus succumbed to the evil tsunami that is cancer.

In his 67th year, Gus leaves all of us that had the honour and good fortune to have met him memories, anecdotes, humor, head shaking moments and a smile.

Gus is survived by beloved Leslie, his rock and compass for nearly 43 years of marriage and their son, Aaron, who makes them proud.

Gus is already missed by his brothers Bill (Patricia) and Paul (Edie), their children and all of Gus and Leslie's extended family.

From the age of 17, Gus was a successful entrepreneur whose business acumen and pioneer spirit is reflected and carried on through the hundreds of friends and employees prospering at thriving companies started by Gus decades ago.

The Baril Family and friends thank all of the dedicated doctors, researchers, nurses and staff at Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre and Roswell Hospital, for their Herculean efforts to keep Gus with us with a quality of life.

You will never be forgotten.

Covid-19 has delayed Gus' Celebration of Life until a time we can all embrace, laugh, cry and commemorate a man who made us all better for having met and known him.

In lieu of flowers or condolence cards, a donation in his name would be appreciated to the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre T Wing, 2075 Bayview Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, M4N 3M5 or to a charity that holds special meaning to you.
