Goupil ShirleyGOUPIL, Shirley - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley, on Friday, January 15, 2021 at the age of 81.

Shirley, beloved wife of the late Jean- Guy, loving mother of Carole (Joseph). Proud grandmother to Sarah and Michael and dearest sister of Florence and the late Lawrence.

Shirley grew up in Roblin, Manitoba later moving to Toronto, Ontario with her husband Jean-Guy Goupil where they would raise their daughter Carole. Although they only had one child, she always had a spot in her home and in her heart for any child she met.

Shirley had a love for all animals, especially her dogs Mitzie and Lucy.

A farm girl at heart, Shirley loved to garden and was known for her raspberries, cherry tomatoes and dill! Shirley was also highly skilled with knitting needles and crochet hooks, and enjoyed her daily walks to the park with her dogs.

She was known for her free spirit, infectious smile and her kind and compassionate heart. Most of all, Shirley always believed that family was first and foremost. She especially loved her role as Baba to her two grandchildren, whom she adored and thought the world of. Anyone who knew her knew all about Sarah and Michael and what they were doing.

She had a vivacious personality and the people around her always felt loved. She made friends everywhere she went. Shirley will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Shepherd Lodge for their patience, kindness and compassion.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the visitation and Funeral Mass will be private by invitation only. The Funeral Mass will be at Our Lady of Fatima Shrine Church on Wednesday, January 20th at 9am and will be broadcasted via live link

For those who wish to attend virtually, the Link will be added when it becomes available on Monday, January 18th on the website of Paul O'Connor funeral home, Scarborough.

In memory of Shirley, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or Shepherd Village.
