Shankman LawrenceSHANKMAN, Lawrence "The Duke" - June 2 1919 - April 1, 2021

With profound sadness the family of Lawrence Shankman announces that their beloved patriarch passed away peacefully, at his home, on April 1, 2021 of natural causes, in the 102nd year of his life.

We are saddened by his, inevitable, passing; yet immensely proud of the exemplary and vibrant life he lived, brimming with accomplishments and contributions to his city, country and the State of Israel.

Loving and caring husband to his wife of 71 years (Edith, of blessed memory) father to Carol, Jeff and Grace, grandfather to Jordana, David, Lee, Cory and Derek, great- grandfather to Victoria, brother to Ruth Wolfman, (of blessed memory), uncle to Marc and Alan Wolfman and families. He will be missed but always remembered.

Abraham Lincoln said: "And in the end, its not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years. The Duke, put the exclamation mark on that!

Please read our thoughtful tribute to his impactful 101+ years at www.thedukememorial.ca.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021.

We suggest donations in his honour be made to The Reena Foundation (Ext.3630) (905) 763- 8254 UJA Federation Of Greater Toronto.
