Levert KirstiLEVERT, Kirsti Anneli (nee Tuovinen) - Kirsti was born February 2, 1940 in Aanekoski, Finland and passed away on April 8, 2021 in Beaverton, Ontario.

Her family came to Canada in 1947 and settled in Copper Cliff, Sudbury.

She was predeceased by her loving mother Hanna Tuovinen and her father Eino Tuovinen. Survived by her daughter Karen Levert and son Mark Levert, her beloved grandson Martin Roodenburg and sisters Marja Piirik and Rauni Piirainen.

She also leaves behind nieces Jennifer Wainman-McNaught, Brenda Wainman, Katherine Wainman, Alisa Sears, Carol-Anne Falconi, Linda Mercier, Suzanne Bowman and nephew Karl Piirik.

Kirsti was proud of her work for many years as the Office Manager for Dr. Clive B. Esty.

Mom spent her free time caring for her dogs that shared her life, taking walks with friends, going to garage sales, dancing, listening to music and creating beautiful art. She also enjoyed cottaging at Long Lake and Vowel Lake and, of course, she loved a good sauna. In her younger years she was an avid figure skater.

Kirsti was full of unconditional love. She also inherited Finnish “sisu” (grit and bravery), which helped her navigate life’s difficult moments.

Thank you Mom, for all of your years of kindness. You will be dearly missed everyday but never forgotten.

Arrangements entrusted with Thompson funeral home, Aurora. Due to the current pandemic limitations, a livestream service will be held on Monday, April 12th at 2PM. Cremation to follow. A Celebration of life will be held at the graveside in Highland Memorial Gardens at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated.
