Milne ThomasMILNE, Thomas Edward  - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our own Superhero... Thomas Edward Milne on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at his home on East Moore Lake, Ontario - after a lengthy illness.

Tom (Tommy) was born on August 26, 1935 in Toronto to James Milne and Clara Roscoe.

He was predeceased by his former wife of over 25 years, June Milne (1938-2020) and is survived by his five children: Laurie (Ang), Kim (Ed), Scott (Helen), Darrin (Vicky) and Heather (Tom); his grandchildren: Emily, Jennifer (Justin), Jesse, Brandon (Sarah), Bradley, Spencer, Bryce, Jessica, Katie (Sal), Allison and his great-grandchildren: Avah, Brianna, Siara, Nicholas, Savannah, Brooklynn, and another on the way!

Tom was a loving brother to Jim (Yvonne) and Jean Bilz (Hal) and uncle to many special nieces and nephews.

He was a mentor to some and good friend to many including his dear and oldest friend, Dick Dewhirst.

Tom proudly served in the Canadian Navy during the mid-50s thru early-60s aboard the HMCS Bonaventure and HMCS Quebec. He then settled in Willowdale, Ontario and joined the Metro Toronto Police Force in 1962, rising to the rank of Detective Sergeant in the Homicide Squad.

Tom diligently served the public for 31 years before retiring to the cottage – which he enjoyed for many years.

Tom appreciated the beauty in nature and loved to cook – he was a meticulous chef! He enjoyed film noir, the Blue Jays and Maple Leafs and had a passion for great music - which he instilled in all his children.

In retirement, his love of genealogy is where he focused all his detective skills by creating a database of over 30,000 of his ancestors.

His true joy in life was to be surrounded by his family and friends. Dad's door and heart was always open to anyone in need. You are missed and will be forever in our hearts, Dad.

Thomas will be interred at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in the near future.
