Yuk JosephYUK, Joseph Chan Kwan - Born in Hong Kong on August 3, 1926, passed away peacefully at Markham
Stouffville hospital on April 6, 2021 at the age of 94.

Kwan Yuk is predeceased by his daughter, Teresia.

He is survived by his wife, Chan Lau Wai Yee; his sons, Stephen and Peter; and son-in-law, Nai Yuen; his daughters-in-law, Janice and Lilian; his five grandchildren, Stefanie, Melissa, Kevin, Samantha and Jonathan; his grandson-in-law, Jacob; and his great-grandchild, Florence.

Kwan Yuk was the oldest brother of a family with seven siblings. He had a normal teenage life until 17 years old when World War II broke out. Hong Kong was ruined after the war. As the family business was no longer sufficient to feed the family, his father asked Kwan Yuk to give up school, and start working immediately to help feed the family.

In 1955, Kwan Yuk married Wai Yee, and worked hard to raise his family.

The most valuable lessons Kwan Yuk taught his children was to count your blessings, to have gratitude to people that were kind to you, and to not be greedy. Kwan Yuk always stressed that “If it is too good to be true…then it is too good to be true”
His family is very proud to have had such a great and special father. He will be missed very much.

If you decide to donate, please consider donating, in memory of Joseph Chan Kwan Yuk, to the Markham
Stouffville Hospital (in lieu of flowers).

The family would like to thank all the staff at the Emergency Unit and specifically, Unit 3C, for their care, kindness and dignity they provided to Kwan Yuk in his final days.
