Cobham Mervyn CocoCOBHAM, Mervyn 'Coco' Owen - Mervyn “Coco” Owen Cobham was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He passed away on April 12, 2021 at age 74 after his courageous battle with both Stroke and Cancer. He was a beacon of light for all who met him.

Born to parents Sydney Adolphus Cobham and Lillian Evon Mazy Cobham on May 25, 1946 in Georgetown, Guyana. He was the eldest of their seven children followed by Vibert, Leslyn, Sydney, Joy, Ronald and Deborah.

After graduating, he moved to New York and worked at Irwin Toys prior to making the permanent move to Canada. There, he landed in Toronto where he would meet the love of his life and who survives him, his beautiful wife, Desiree Cobham. Together they had 2 children: Owen and Walter.

Mervyn worked at Canada Post up until his retirement, making life-long friends along the way. He doted on his family, and would go above and beyond to ensure that those that he cared for were well taken care of.

His calm disposition allowed him to act like a surrogate father to many and provide a voice of reason and compassion to others. He was known for his love of music, big laughs, and his unrepentant love for the Buffalo Bills.

Mervyn was an amazing man, loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Respecting the current situation and pandemic restrictions, a private funeral service will be held. Arrangements and livestream funeral details are entrusted with Ward Funeral Homes, "Brampton Chapel"

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
