de Lery Charlesde LERY, Charles C.   - It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of our loving father, Charles C. de Lery, on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at the age of 92.

For over 5 years, Charles fiercely battled like a warrior, the insidious disease of Alzheimer's (The Long Good-bye).

Charles was the beloved husband for 67 years to the late, beautiful Eileen de Lery.

Loving father to the late Pierre de Lery, Gilles (Francine Landry), Charles, Sue Brown (Dave Brown), Monique (Rob Munden), and his many grandchildren, Rob, Elise, Michelle, Genevieve, Gabriel, Ashley, Alyssa, Amanda, and great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Lucas and Cam.

Charles had an illustrious career in finance, received his MBA at Western University, and worked over 40 years as Senior Vice President of Royal Trust in Montreal and Toronto.

Charles finished his career as CEO of the Canadian Deposit Insurance Corporation in Ottawa.

Everyone knew Charles in a different way - a devoted husband, a revered father, a generous grandfather, an established businessman, a tennis player, a fisherman, a card player, a gardener, and a traveller. Charles was known for his French enthusiasm - charitable, honesty, decency, reliable - these are the values our father, not only held in high esteem but, practiced every day during his time on earth.

Due to COVID restrictions, a private family celebration of Charles' Life will be held at a later date.

Donations to the Alzheimer Society are appreciated.
