Paterson SheilaPATERSON, Sheila (Bimson) - It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of Sheila suddenly in the
comforts of home on May 10, 2021.

Sheila leaves behind her husband of 57 years, Don. Loving mother of Susan (Peter) and David (Tami). Sheila was a proud Nanny to Elizabeth, Christopher, Kathryn, Noah and Brock.

In her lifetime, she was the proud mommy and Nanny to her many fur babies. She was a sister to her loving siblings Elizabeth (Beth) and her late brothers Jimmy and Norman. She was a caring Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Born in Verdun, Montreal in 1943, Nanny met Don at CP Rail and began their family. After moving to Toronto in 1978 (and converting to a Leafs fan), she and Don built a life full of joy. Sheila ws a dedicated employee of Atlantic Packaging for many years.

She embraced life with her 5 grandchildren to the fullest. She was their biggest cheerleader and fan, rarely missing soccer, hockey, baseball and skating events. She was the first to support school, sport and community fundraising events. Nanny’s house was known for the place where Susan and David’s friends could always “crash”! Friends knew the “brown couch” was always open!

Vacationing in Ocean Park Maine with her entire family and beloved family friends were memories that Nanny cherished. Some of the memories being picnics at Two Lights, lunches at KennebunkPort, sharing a Raspberry Lime Rickey at the Soda fountain and treating the family to our Annual Seafood Dinner.

You could always count on Nanny for a shopping trip to any mall - anywhere. She loved to sit in the sun and her love of reading would always result in a good book review. The grandkids can attest to her being the BEST Christmas and birthday shopper EVER. The adults all prayed that Nanny pulled their name for our yearly Kris Kringle Christmas Gift Exchange!

In Sheila’s memory, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.

Arrangements entrusted with Ogden funeral home. Due to COVID restrictions, a celebration of life will be held at a later date when we can gather together.

In the meantime... raise a glass of vodka and Diet Pepsi to celebrate one amazing mom, wife and Nanny.
