Owens JBOWENS, John Bruce 'JB' - It is with great sadness that the family of John Owens announces his death from pancreatic cancer on May 11, 2021.

As was his wish, he passed away peacefully at home with his beloved wife of 30 years at his side.

John was the son of Betty Ann (Argue) Owens and the late H. Bruce Owens.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Sue Foster, his brother Brian (Reese) Owens, his beloved nieces and nephews: Nicholas Owens, Ashley, Jennifer (Patrick) and Mark (Gaetana) Foster, Russ and Ciara Weber, his cherished great niece Giulia Foster; his Aunt Mary Smith and cousins Karyn (David Miller) and Randy (Karen) Smith and families as well as his Owens family cousins and countless friends.

He was predeceased by his father Bruce and his brother Paul (in infancy).

John was a retired Pharmaceutical Production Supervisor, a superb baker, and avid marathon runner who loved nothing better than getting together with family and friends for a meal he prepared or touring them around Ireland where he and his wife lived for 5 wonderful years.

The family extends its deepest thanks to John’s sister-in-law Patricia (Foster) Burgess, Saint Elizabeth’s Home Health Care, the Freeman Centre for Palliative Care and all his Chudleigh neighbours.

A private family service will be held Tuesday, May 18th at 2pm with Zoom available.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA (Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) or the Canadian Cancer Society.
