MANDER, Madeline June (nee LEONARD) - At Burlington, Ontario, on Thursday, May 13, 2021, in her 99th year.
Beloved wife of the late Ernest Ward Mander. Dear mother of Gregory (Barbara), Mississauga, Judith Maksym, Bronte and the late Beverly Dowdle, Oakville.
Survived by her sister Helen Lowe.
A Nana to eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her brother Jack, sisters Eva Hallam and Thelma Davies.
June was born on June 5, 1922 in New Toronto. After the sudden death of her father in March 1933, her mother continued to raise the family in New Toronto where June met Ward and in 1940 they were married.
Except for a short period of less than two years in a restaurant business with her husband at Kimberly, Ontario and the last four years at Burlington, Ontario, June lived her entire life in South Etobicoke.
Our mother readily made friends and enjoyed their company in a variety of activities.
Major health events occurred in January 2003 and in October 2013 which were temporary setbacks which June overcame very well and demonstrated her inner strength and her very independent nature.
A private service will be conducted at a later date.
