Jobin ClaireJOBIN, Claire (nee Harris) - Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, November 9, 1933. Claire passed peacefully at her home in Toronto, Ontario, May 12, 2021.

Predeceased by her husband Arthur, she is survived by her daughters Stephanie (Etienne Cornu), Kimberley/Kayla, Dianne (Philip Nessel) and sons James (Nicola Joy), Camille (Sheila), Ormond (Kimberly Joines) as well as granddaughter Tessa Jobin-Joy, grandsons Christophe Gerber, Patrick Gerber (Clara Eaton), Michael Jobin (Kaitlin Strachan), David Leroux, Sean Jobin, Curtis Jobin, Phillip Jobin-Joy and great-grandchildren Megan and Calvin Gerber.

Claire will be sadly missed by her sisters Georgia Black and Helen Skogland and brother Bruce Harris and the many members of her large family.

In her late teens, Claire moved from Vancouver to Toronto to attend the Royal Conservatory of Music. It was while she was a student there that she met the love of her life, Arthur Jobin, who was studying at the University of Toronto. They were married shortly after and spent 61 happy years together until Arthur’s passing in 2015.

Claire enjoyed life to the fullest, spending many years gardening at the cottage with her young children on Wymbolwood Beach and later in life exploring the Simcoe/Georgian Bay/Trent-Severn waterways on the MV “Distant Drummer” with family and friends.

After taking a number of Canadian Power Squadron boating courses she took the next step and spent several years teaching those courses. She also rose to the position of Commodore of the LSYC.

Claire enjoyed a second career in the music industry as co-owner, with her son Ormond, of Reaction Studios. And throughout her adult lifetime her passion for researching and trading on the stock market led her to spending time on this activity every day up until her passing.

In her final years Claire was able to remain comfortably in her own home thanks to the assistance of several Personal Support Workers. Special thanks to Joy Facinal, who spent the last 3 years helping Claire to live her best life to the end.

A private Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Cathedral. Arrangements entrusted with Rosar-Morrison funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Claire’s memory to St Michael’s Hospital Foundation.
