DELL, Dr. James Harvey - My brilliant, loving, supportive husband and loyal friend has passed away after a long illness.
Dr. James Harvey Dell - Born May 4, 1934 in Niagara Falls, Ont. - Deceased on June 6, 2021 at Toronto Grace Health Centre at the age of 87 years, 1 month and 2 days.
James' many achievements in higher education made us all proud and inspired younger members of his family to follow his example.
James had a PhD in Physics, a master's degree in Astronomy and many other degrees and certificates. He was “Dr. James H. Dell, PhD. Physics." He loved learning, teaching and lively debates.
James leaves his wife of 41 years Lise Mariette Guay, his brother Jerrold Dell; his nephews and nieces, Matthew Dell (Adriana Laborde), Sheila Dell (Marc Brown), Virginia McGrath (Rory), Phil Robinson ( Ruth), Valerie Robinson, Neil Cowan, Garry Cowan; his brothers in law Jean-Claude Guay, Michel Guay, Pierre Guay, Roger Guay (Martine Laberge), his nephews and nieces Mélanie Guay (Pierre-Etienne Tétrault), François Guay, Catherine Guay, Sylvain Guay (Stéphanie Bélanger), Daniel Guay, and many great-nephews and nieces and dear friends.
James was predeceased by his father Abraham Lincoln Dell and mother Florence Inrig, his sister June Cowan and her husband Fred Cowan; his sister Joyce Robinson and her husband Lin; his sister in law Hilary Dell; his brother Don Dell and wife Lilian; his nephew Larry Cowan.
In accordance with his wishes there will be no funeral ceremonies or memorial. His remains will be cremated. Arrangements entrusted with Rosar-Morrison funeral home.
James will be greatly missed but he will live in our hearts forever and he will continue to inspire us.
