Accettura RosaACCETTURA, Rosa - It is with great sadness that the family of Rosa Accettura announces her passing on Sunday, June 6, 2021 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the age of 86.

She was born on June 30, 1934 in Bitritto, Bari, Italy.

Beloved wife of the late Vito, loving mother of Rose (Frank Rosso), Frank Accettura, Joe Accettura and Domenica (Salvatore Iervolino).

Cherished nonna of Maryrose (Johnny Villella), Stephanie Rosso, Frankie Rosso (Avneet Rosso), Christina Rosso (Ian Mateff), Giovanna Iervolino and Emilio Iervolino. Cherished bisnonna of Antonio Villella, Massimo Villella, Ilaria Rosso and Rafael Rosso.

Rosa was a devoted wife and mother. She was a beautiful person both inside and out. Rosa will always be remembered as the most loving mother who cherished and loved her children immensely. She always kept her mother Domenica and father Giuseppe alive and close to her heart, never to be forgotten. Having endured extreme hardships and sacrifices, such as living through World War II and leaving her homeland to provide a better future for her family, she taught her children how to persevere in life’s trials.

Her love for her family, strength, patience, humbleness and generosity will always be admired and remembered. Rosa treasured every moment with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a woman of strong faith in Jesus and she enjoyed attending mass at St. Nicola di Bari Church in Toronto.

She also enjoyed dancing and taking walks on St. Clair (Corso Italia). Everywhere she went, she made friends. Her favourite TV program was Pasquale Kitchen Express and her favourite film was The Ten Commandments. During the World Cup, she enjoyed watching Italy play and had fun celebrating the victories on St. Clair.

She will always be loved, deeply missed and forever remembered by all of her family and friends.

The Accettura family greatly appreciates your gestures of sympathy and condolences at this very difficult time. Due to the current COVID – 19 restrictions the visitation and services will remain private for the family only.  A Private Entombment to follow at Prospect Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted with Jerrett funeral homes, St. Clair chapel.

If desired, donations in Memory of Rosa Accettura may be made to Kensington Hospice in Toronto.
