Somers LeonardSOMERS, Leonard George - Passed away June 12, 2021 at the Chartwell Trilogy Long Term Care Residence, Scarborough.

Leonard Somers of Scarborough, in his 96th year.

Beloved husband of Josephine Somers (nee Ulett) predeceased.

Loving father of Carol Reddick (Brad-predeceased), Harold (Susan), Michael, and Sharon (predeceased).

Cherished grandfather of Christopher Somers (Shelley), Julia Lazenby (Dan), Adam Reddick (Suzette Grant), Megan Carter (Carl), Ann Somers and Great-grandfather of Ben, Mia, Joel, Neige, Gabriel, Cayleigh, Samuel, Zoey & Mya.

Predeceased by brothers and sisters Phillipian, Irene, Lillian, Ivy, Philip, Leo, Morris, Gerald, Euwen, Norbert and Noel.

Born in Seaford Town, Westmoreland, Jamaica, W.I. on September 10, 1925, he was the son of the late Phillip and Matilda (nee Brown) Somers. Leonard came to Canada in the early 1950’s to find employment and later sent for his family in 1954.

They settled in Sudbury until Leonard’s retirement from INCO in 1986. Leonard and Josephine then moved to Scarborough. His family will miss his strong work ethic and the many stories he shared with them about his beloved Jamaica as well as his many happy years in Canada.

In light of Covid restrictions, there will be a small funeral attended by family and friends (please RVSP) at McDougall & Brown Funeral Home, Scarborough on Thursday, June 17, 2021.
