Deguara VictorDEGUARA, Victor Joseph    - We are extremely saddened at the passing of Victor Joseph Deguara on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Michael Garron Hospital, East York, Toronto, at the age of 89.

Vic left his beloved wife of 67 years, Shirley Ann Deguara (nee Waters), and four children, Glenn Victor Deguara (Monika), Lori-Ann Gibson (Glenn), Tracey Greer, and Dawna LeBlanc (Robert), who he was always so proud of.

Vic adored his first love and devoted wife, Shirley.

He lived to see her happy and safe and, at that, he more than succeeded.

Vic cherished his moments with his kids, enjoying so many adventures with them.

Vic loved his eight grandchildren to bits: Stephanie and Danielle, Sabre, Austen, and Deven, Taylor and Connor, and Rylie - he was called "Poppy" and was adored by all of them. Vic touched the lives of many nephews and nieces and other relatives, as well as numerous friends and neighbours, too many to list here.

They will all miss his friendly banter and generous spirit.

Vic was stylish and jovial, characteristics which bode well in his career when he travelled as National Sales Manager at Gestetner, affording him the opportunity to meet a Prince (Philip), a Pope (Paul), and a President (Kennedy). Vic could turn a stranger into a long-lost friend within minutes.

His first calling was with the OPP. He was also a longtime Rotary Member.

Vic grew up with his parents, Joseph and Rose, who immigrated from Malta, and his siblings, Chuck (predeceased April 7, 2021) and Angie.

We will miss his smile and laugh but he will always be in our hearts.

Due to COVID restrictions and family wishes, there will be no memorial at this time.

In lieu of flowers, donations, if wished, can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
