Mariano MariliaMARIANO, Marilia - (September 3, 1943 - July 11, 2021) - It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the sudden and unexpected passing of Marilia Mariano on July 11, 2021.

Marilia was born in Biscoitos, Terceira, Azores, Portugal and immigrated to Canada in 1964 at the age of 21. Marilia was predeceased by her loving husband and soul mate, Manuel Mariano to whom she was married for 52 years.

Marilia was a proud mother of 3 children; Marlene (Peter), Gary (Alicia) and Joshua and a loving grandmother to 4 grandchildren; Rebecca, Matthew, Benjamin and Landon and family doggie, Kobi.

Marilia was a loving wife and mother who dedicated herself to her family. She also had a passion for music and a desire to play the piano and sing. In her later years, she made this dream come true as she started music lessons and completed several levels of music education and participated in piano recitals and concerts as a performer. Pre-pandemic she was an active member of her church choir and the church community.

Marilia was also an avid reader and enjoyed learning how to better herself and help others. She was a genuine spirit, who had a talent for understanding and connecting with people. Marilia was a hardworking resilient woman who loved her family and enjoyed sharing words of wisdom with others, especially her children and grandchildren.

The last few years were challenging for her as she lost her beloved husband and had to cope with the social isolation of the pandemic. She missed the social interaction with her family and friends, attending mass, piano recitals and concerts, and participating in activities and community events.

Marilia was a pillar of strength to her family, and our memories of her will be with us forever. She is greatly missed by her family and friends.

God rest her soul and raise her spirit in God’s Kingdom. Arrangements entrusted with Ward funeral homes.
