Walker IanWALKER, Ian Spencer - January 30, 1965-July 29, 2021 - It is with great sadness we share the sudden passing of Ian Spencer Walker, 56, of Toronto at the family cottage on Sparrow Lake near Gravenhurst.

Ian was born in Toddington, Bedfordshire, England to Jeffrey and Anne Walker on the same day as Winston (Spencer) Churchill’s funeral, which inspired Ian’s middle name.

The family emigrated to Canada in 1966 and lived in Pickering, Ontario before moving to Richmond Hill in 1969.

Ian attended Oak Ridges Public School, Jefferson Public School, Crosby Heights Senior Public School and Bayview Secondary School.

He received his pharmacy degree from the University of Toronto in 1988 and practised for 32 years, most recently with Dales Pharmacy in Markham.

While living and working in Lindsay in the early nineties, Ian was introduced by good friends to Lisa Cain. They married on September 3rd, 1995, bought a house the following year and raised three children together; Owen (1997), Ariel (2001) and Emma (2004).

Ian was predeceased by his brother Nigel (1982), and mother Anne (2016). He is survived by his wife Lisa and their children Owen, Ariel, and Emma; his father Jeffrey; uncle Andrew (Christine); brother Andrew (Anthony) and brother-in-law Stephen (Leighanne), as well as extended family in the UK and US, and many friends near and far.

Due to COVID restrictions, a small private funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 14th, 2021. A Celebration of Life for ALL who wish to attend will be held in Toronto on September 18th. Time and location TBD.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to CAMH.
