Retired Justice of the Peace, Ontario Court of Justice (Provincial Division); Retired Assistant Commissioner of National Housing & Legal Advisor, National Housing Department (Colombo, Sri Lanka); Attorney-at-Law and Justice of the Peace & Unofficial Magistrate (Sri Lanka); President, Ontario Sri Lanka Pensioners Association (OSPA, Ontario, Canada).

Aged 88 – son of late Alfred A. Sundaram of Uduvil, Retired Station Master & Commissioner of Sales, District Court & Courts of Requests, (Jaffna, Sri Lanka), Lilly Rasammah, Retired Teacher, Methodist School (Point Pedro, Sri Lanka).

Brother of late Reginald Rajendra and Sextus Kulendra.

Beloved husband of Eliza Jogendra (nee Mather); beloved father of Pamela Yogini Selvaratnam, HSBC Bank, Manager Fraud Operations (Canada), Romayne Dilreeni Newton (U.S.A), and Dr. Mather R. Dilan Jogendra, Medical Director of Surgical Co-management and Medical Director of 6W Medical/Surgical Unit, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Mount Sinai Health System, NY. (U.S.A).

Father-in-law of Joseph Selvaratnam, Barrister & Solicitor (UK and Canada) and Federal Prosecutor (Toronto, Canada), Dr. Ratnakumar Seelan Newton, Clinical Director, Oneida Indian Nation Health Services and Medical Director of Madison County Health Department (U.S.A.)

Loving and adoring grandfather of Callum Newton, Aidan Selvaratnam, Evan Newton, and Liam Newton.

Brother-in-law of late Gladys (Baby) Nathanael, late M. (Rasa) Surendran, late Lilly Duraisamy, Barton Mather, late Tetley Mather, late Sama Mather, Yogan Mather, and Suri Mather.

He is dearly missed by all his nieces and nephews, and friends. He was an old boy of Hartley College, Point Pedro and Ceylon Law College, Colombo, Sri Lanka, called to rest on September 9, 2021.

Funeral Visitation: Friday, September 17, 2021 fat Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, Markham. Funeral Service: Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 9:30 am, at Unionville Alliance Church, 4898 Sixteenth Avenue Markham, ON L3R 0K6.
