Beattie KayBEATTIE, Kathleen 'Kay' (Carter) - Passed away peacefully on September 11, 2021.

Kay had celebrated her 100th birthday celebration, and was three days shy of her 101st birthday.

Kay lived a long and happy life, marrying Andrew Petrie Beattie on December 21, 1943.

She is survived by daughter Heather (husband Ken), and sons Graham (wife Elsa) and Allan (wife Janice).

Unfortunately, husband Andy, son George (wife Lynda), and brother Kenneth Carter had passed previously.

Kay was proud of her grandchildren Jennifer, Karen, Todd, Tyler, Paul, Lori, and Cameron.

She was especially proud to have known great grandchildren Kaley, Nathan, Krispopher, Alexander, Evan, Abby, Jackson, Easton, and Ella.

Having grown up on a farm in Roslin, Ontario, Kay was fond of the outdoors and played softball as a young girl.

After marriage, Kay moved to Toronto where she worked part time at Sears and full time as a wife, mother, and homemaker. Kay was active in her church, and volunteered at several charities including the Food Bank where she worked for 20 years.

Kay was a strong person. Early in the COVID-19 pandemic and even before being vaccinated, she battled and survived a coronavirus infection. Several times, we thought that we were losing her, only to see her battle back. Kay decided that now was her time and she decided to leave us.

All who knew Kay are profoundly saddened by her loss, but are filled with beautiful memories that will last a lifetime. Kay is now in a better place, and she leaves behind a better world.
