Unsworth GrantUNSWORTH, Grant Nelson   -  With sorrow in our hearts we announce the sudden passing of Grant Unsworth on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at the age of 91 years.

Grant will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Laurene of 66 years.

He will be loved forever by his children Jane (Tom); Mark (Karen); Karen (Peter).

He was the devoted grandpa to Laura (Aaron); Brett (Katie); Courtney (Randy), Grant (Leslie-Ann); Erin (Colin).

He was the cherished great-grandpa to Ben, Leah, Thomas, William, Ally, Colton, Blakely, Elizabeth, Charlotte and Rayna.

Growing up as a lad on the banks of the Red River in Emerson, Manitoba, Grant's career took off after achieving his BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manitoba.

From simple summer jobs with the Manitoba Power Commission to opportunities with Canadian General Electric in Peterborough, where Laurene and Grant met and began their family... he learned to operate a nuclear research reactor with Atomic Energy of Canada Limited, which lead to a position back in Manitoba, where his children became adults. Grant's many chances to meet with foreign nuclear agencies contributed to his and Laurene's love for travel.

As Grant said in his memoirs, with a little luck and a lot of others' kindness and generosity, he has walked down a very happy life path.

We will celebrate Grant's life on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Port Nelson United Church, Burlington, Ontario. The service will be streamed live on Port Nelson's YouTube channel.

In lieu of flowers, please raise a drink of scotch and make a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada.
