KEAN, Anne Florence - 1918 - 2021 On September 13, 2021, Anne Kean, at the age of 103 and surrounded by family finished her long and winding path on this earth.
Predeceased by John (2004), her beloved husband for 60 years.
Much loved mother of her children April McCormick (Robin) of Mississauga, Marsha Prokop of London, Deborah Nichols (Derek) of St. Martin, Paul (Deb) of Brampton, James (Milena) of Mississauga, Rosemary Zinman Kean of Vancouver and Patrick of Mississauga, and the loving gramma to her many grandchildren.
Raised in the northern Ontario town of Nakina, Anne was one of thirteen children of William and Juliana Kibzey, and is survived by sisters Rose, Til, and Evelyn, and brother Bauz.
She moved to Toronto to attend St. Joseph's College School, and met her future husband John during that time.
As a new bride in 1944, she joined John as he served Canada in the R.C.A.F. stationed in Bella Bella, BC patrolling the west coast. After the war, she and John returned to Toronto where they began raising their family.
John's career took Anne and the growing family to Winnipeg, Ottawa, and finally back to Toronto.
Anne enjoyed many years in fashion retail at Eaton's and Holt Renfrew.
After John's retirement, they lived several years in Orillia and a condo in Florida before returning to Mississauga.
She loved cooking over a campfire, sewing and knitting, slightly sweet red wine, her Toronto Blue Jays, hats, and noisy family get-togethers.
She will be missed by all. Mom always had a smile for her caregivers at Sheridan Villa, who helped her to enjoy her final years.

Visitation and service will take place on Saturday, September 18th at the Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, Mississauga. Interment will follow. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, registration is required and limited.
