SOTIRAKOS, Peter - On September 21, 2021, Peter Sotirakos, loving husband, father and pappou, passed away at age 85.
Peter was born on February 9, 1936 in Mystra, Greece.
He came to Canada in 1954 in search for a better life for himself and his family.
In 1962, he returned to Greece where he met and married his wife of 59 years, Anastasia.
They raised two sons, Bill (My Linh) and Jim (Lina), and he was the proud pappou to Daniela, Peter, Alex and Stephen.
Peter started working as a busboy at age 11 and helped provide for his family by working in the restaurant business for 62 years.
He was the former co-owner of East York Restaurant and bartender and eventual manager at a bar in Toronto's west end where he worked for over 25 years.
He was generous to family and friends and had a good sense of humour. We will all miss his jokes and storytelling.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 between 5 and 8 p.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. A funeral service will be held at the same location on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 10 a.m.
