FLANAGAN, Mary 'Irene' (nee Johnston) - Passed away peacefully in her 94th year on Wednesday, September 22, 2021.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph. Cherished mother of Mary Anne Chappell (Paul), Wendy Flanagan (Bruce Short), and Jayne Truttenbach (Horst).

Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Andrew (Zoey), Alexandra, Kenneth, Meredith, David (Jinny), Steven (Ryan), Catherine (Nathan), and Caroline. Great-grandchildren Stefan, Theodore, Olivia, Cassandra, William, Ava and Connor.

Predeceased by siblings Ann, Stewart and Joan.

Irene was a longtime employee of Picker X-Ray in Bramalea, working as The Supervising Cost Accountant. Irene had many talents and interests: She was a longtime member of the St. Andrew’s Scottish Country Dancing Club in Brampton; an avid participant in the activities at Flowercity Seniors Centre in Brampton. Irene designed and sewed figure skating costumes, Scottish highland and country dance costumes, wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, prom dresses and graduation dresses. Her talents were widely recognized and sought out.

Arrangements are entrusted with Ward Funeral Home, Brampton Chapel.

As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to a charity of choice.
