PIRES, Roland - August 11, 1939 - September 15, 2021
With deep sorrow, we advise of the sudden, but peaceful, passing of our dear brother, Roland Pires, on September 15, 2021.
Roland faced his many health issues with resilience, resolution and resourcefulness, transitioning various career paths from engineering through maths tutoring to tax preparation.
A gentle person, with a quiet sense of humour, he was beloved of his many students and clients.
He had a wide range of interests from scientific to spiritual and was the author of two books: "Universal Mathematics, Grades 8 and 9" and "Evolution Unravelled defies Natural Laws".
He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his surviving siblings, Terence (Helen), Albert, Bernadette (George Logan), Philomena Alderson (Tony) and Maria Saunders (Bob), sister-in-law, Elise, nephews and nieces, Gabe, Danielle (Ray) Joanne, Christopher (Leena), Marshall, Olivia (Sean) and many grandnephews and grand- nieces.
Predeceased by father, Henry George and mother, Mabel Olinda and by siblings, Harold George, Olive and Yvette, and by sister-in-law, Janet.
A private Funeral Mass will be held on September 27th.
