ROGERS, Marion Gail (nee HOAKEN)   - Born in Toronto, on February 2, 1935; died in Toronto, on September 18, 2021, after suffering from Parkinson's disease for several years.

Widow of the late T. Hugh Rogers.

Predeceased by her beloved parents; her sister, Catherine McLoughlin; and her brother, Dr. Paul Hoaken.

Survived by her daughter, Pamela (Kevin Oiye.)

She will be missed by her extended family and many friends.

Gail was a gifted writer and musician.

She learned to play the piano by ear as a toddler. She opened a concert with "God Save the King" at the age of three.

Gail graduated from Humberside Collegiate and Victoria College, University of Toronto (Honours English Language and Literature, 5T8), where Professor Northrop Frye once came out of his office in search of the person who was whistling Bach so beautifully and accurately in the hallway.

She subsequently very much enjoyed teaching high school English in Toronto and elsewhere.

The family deeply appreciates the compassionate, dedicated, and excellent care that Gail received at Wellesley Central Place in recent years as her illness progressed.

No funeral is to be held.

If desired, donations may be made to Wellesley Central Place or to Parkinson Canada, in Gail's memory.
