STEVENSON, (Winifred) Nancy   - Honouring the life of Nancy Stevenson, dedicated teacher, traveller, worshipper and loved family member, who passed on September 20, 2021, in her 85th year.

Born at home, Nancy was a first child for Sam and Lizzie and big sister to Jimmy.

She graduated teachers' college at 19 and taught 34 years at Parkside Elementary.

She had tea with the Queen Mum during a teaching exchange in Belfast and was later classmates with some of the Maple Leafs' greats while doing her degree at McMaster University.

Wise with her money, Nancy bought her home in 1965 – on her own and in cash!

She was an avid traveller and there are few countries she hadn't visited: She saw polar bears in the north, toured China before it was common and even visited the Galapagos Islands.

She was a devoted member of Danforth Gospel Hall, taught Sunday school and ran children's craft classes.

A graveside service, with family, will take place at Pine Hills Cemetery.

Nancy joins her parents, Samuel and Eliza Jane Stevenson, and leaves: her brother, Jim, and sister-in-law Yvonne, who cared for her with dignity; cousins Violet Murdoch and Bill Lavery; nieces Jennifer, Sharon (Rob) and Carol (Jarrett) and grand-nephews Declan and Callum.
