Macmillan IanMACMILLAN, Ian Reid Anderson 'Mac' - Ian “Mac” Macmillan passed away in Scarborough, Ontario on October 19, 2021, at the age of 82.

Born and raised in Scotland, he emigrated to Canada in the late 1960s. He practiced law on both sides of the Atlantic and was a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada for many decades.

An avid sportsman, he was an accomplished rugby player, tennis player, and squash player. His passion for long distance running led to innumerable 10Ks and the odd marathon. He followed all the local teams and could be found frequently on weekend patios watching rugby, tennis or golf.

He loved travel, both foreign and domestic, and reveled in the Canadian lake scene where he would gleefully frolic in water temperatures that most would avoid.

He is survived by his darling wife Dorothy, his daughter Susan Logan and her husband Grant and sons Angus and Fraser, his son Ross Macmillan and his wife Amy and son Cace, and his brother Neil and his wife Jane and their sons James, Hamish, Andrew, and Quddús.

He led an active and independent life to the end. He had a passion for meeting new people and hearing their stories. He lived his live by two creeds – ‘We are on this planet to make a difference’ and ‘A journey of a thousand miles always begins with one small step.’

The world will definitely be a duller place without him, and he is sorely missed by his family and friends.

Arrangements are entrusted with Ward funeral homes.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Captain’s Fund of the Canadian Rugby Foundation.
