Pinkerton HelenPINKERTON, Helen Elizabeth (nee Rea) - Peacefully, at home with her family, on Friday, October 15, 2021, Helen Pinkerton (nee Rea), passed away at the age of 77.

Beloved wife of Brian Pinkerton and loving mother of David and Michael.

Helen's long battle with ALS showed her courage in facing life challenges with a smile.

Despite the adversity, she stayed positive until the end. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met and her cheerful attitude and bright smile will be missed.

Helen's education included Lakeshore Teachers College, York University, and a Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Education.

Helen taught in several schools within the Toronto Board of Education and this is where Helen became fast friends with Brian.

Together they enjoyed 48 years of married bliss and raised their two sons. As a couple, their profound respect and admiration for each other propelled them into a love not seen by many, but noticed by all.

Helen and the family settled in Picton in the early 2000's and she felt very much at home with her calm and pleasant demeanor, matching the atmosphere of the county. Helen became an active and devoted member of St. Mary Magdalene Church and was involved in many aspects of church life, such as the Altar Guild.

Helen enjoyed the time spent with her church family and the friendships that blossomed through activities.

Finally, the family wishes to express their thanks to the countless medical professionals, delivery drivers, cleaners, and friends that helped us get Helen to Heaven. Without all of your love and support, this journey would not have been such smooth sailing for the many years out at sea. It was truly an honour to have you into our home.

Funeral Service took place at St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. with interment at Glenwood Cemetery. The Venerable Charles Morris officiating with the Reverend Fran Langlois.

Donations in Helen's memory, may be directed to the Recreation Outreach Centre, in Picton, Ontario, or the ALS Society of Canada.
