McArdle TomMcARDLE, Thomas Henry 'Tom' - Born in Paisley, Scotland on July 22, 1948, Thomas Henry McArdle passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 20, 2021 with his wife of 48 beautiful years, Isabel McArdle, by his side at their home in Ballantrae.

Tom was a much-loved father to Gillian, Alun and Ken (Summer Elliott), and a treasured papa to Natalie. He will be a papa and guardian angel to Kieran Thomas McArdle, who will soon be born and will know all about what a very special person his grandfather was.

Tom is survived by his sister Kathleen Williams, brother-in-law Johnny and nieces Laura and Claire in Scotland.

Tom was also a loving uncle to Valerie, Ruth and Stuart, and to many others in Scotland who affectionately called him uncle and considered him immediate family, and by numerous special and life-long friends from across the UK and Canada.

A skilled millwright with a natural ability to fix anything, Tom and Isabel moved from Bishopton, Scotland to Aurora, Ontario in 1981 with Gillian and Alun as young children. They soon welcomed Ken a few years later and built a happy life for their family. Always a proud Scottish-Canadian, Tom quickly developed a love for hockey and the Toronto Maple Leafs alongside his enduring passion for, and depth of knowledge about, Glasgow Celtic.

He will be dearly missed and forever remembered for his kindness, selflessness, the playful spirit that his granddaughter adored, his sense of humour, willingness to help anyone, and boundless love for his family and friends.

Arrangements are entrusted with Thompson funeral home, Aurora.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tom’s memory to the St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation.
