GARRETT, Joseph Ernest  -  1923 - 2020 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Joseph Garrett, peacefully in his sleep at home (North York) on February 15, 2020, at the age of 96.

Joseph was predeceased by his parents Albert (Thomas) and Edith (née Newton) Garrett and siblings – Marguerite (Peg), and Gordon.

He was a loving and devoted husband of Clara Bernadette Garrett for 73.5 years, whom has just passed on October 15, 2021.

Joseph is survived by his sister Florence (passed on September 1, 2020 in 95th year), by his two sons, Michael and John, and 9 grandchildren - Michelle (Buttignol), Vanessa (Andrews), Daniel, Andrew, Laura, Rose, Keith, Maxwell, and Scott. Born in Winnipeg, grew up in Neepawa, Manitoba.

Joe later moved to London, Ontario where he spent most of his life. He had a full career at the beer store.

A proud Canadian, he always hung his Canadian flag over his well-kept vegetable garden.

Later in life, he and Clara followed their sons to Toronto, Ontario where they lived out their lives.

Joe was a Canadian WWII decorated Veteran who traversed much of Europe - including the beaches of Normandy on D-Day - while fighting for freedom. A man of few words, when he spoke, he spoke with meaning.

Joseph will be forever loved, missed and remembered by his family, friends and extended family of many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held in the Spring of 2022, in London.
