VIT, Guido - December 22, 1929 – November 26, 2021
Suddenly on Friday, November 26, 2021, we lost our beloved Guido.
He will be forever missed by his wife of 62 years, Shirley, his daughters Janice (Elvis), Nancy (Pierre), and son David; by his grandchildren Stephanie, Daniel and Christopher.
He is survived by his sisters in Canada, Santina and Lina, and his sisters in Italy, Pia and Valentina (Reno) as well as his sisters-in-law Norma, Giacinta, June (Merv) and Irene and many nieces and nephews.
Born in Fossalta di Portogruaro, Italy, Guido immigrated to Canada in 1954.
He worked in construction as a gifted plasterer eventually forming his own general contracting company, never officially retiring.
Guido was a wonderful family man who enjoyed time spent with family at the cottage, at the beach, and spending time around the dinner table.
He loved gardening and could often be found among his tomatoes.
Visitation will be held at Holy Cross Funeral Home, Thornhill, on Monday, November 29th, from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. A chapel service will be held for immediate family only on Tuesday, November 30th, at 10:30 a.m. Due to COVID-19, all attendees must present proof of vaccination at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
