RUMLEY, Lewis Robert Elmer Rumley - It is with extremely heavy hearts that we have to announce that Robert Rumley (known to many as Poppi, Dad, Pops and Mr. Baseball) passed away suddenly on the 10th of January, 2022, in his 78th year, at Toronto General Hospital.
He was predeceased by his wife Gail Cunningham, son Howard Cunningham and granddaughter Stephanie Crump.
A loving father to Darlene (Brad) Cunningham, Bruce (Kellie) Cunningham, Sarah (Bobbie) Cunningham, Rob (Penney) Cunningham and Heather (Jim) MacLeod.
Grandfather to Justin Haskett, Jaidyn Cunningham, Robert Cunningham, Vince Cunningham, Kyle Cunningham, Cody (Kaitlyn) Cunningham, Tyler (Brendan) Draganac, Damien Wayne, Michael Cunningham, Dyson Cunningham, Katelin (Thomas) McLaughlin, Jordan McIlveen, Dures McIlveen, Raylene MacLeod, Janel MacLeod, Kole Bailin, and Jewel Bailin. Great-grandfather to Austin Draganac, Hailey Draganac, Max Cunningham, Christopher McLaughlin, Mark McLaughlin and Bella McLaughlin.
Robert proudly served his country as part of the Royal Canadian Navy during the Cuban missile crisis.
An avid sports fan, he will be fondly remembered by the many that he coached playing baseball over the years. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
He will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will take place for him in the coming months when Covid restrictions allow.
